What type of democracy we have in India?

The history of Indian agitation against the British rule has taught us many lessons. Mahatma Gandhi has vigorously (but peacefully) fought for the rights of the people, and that ultimate sacrifice has opened the gates of freedom. Even after so many years, have we learned anything from the history? We honor Mahatma Gandhi every year, the soul that gave everything to the country, but never dreamed of any political mileage. But we forget his teachings the very next day. This country needs reform, no matter who leads the way, we need another Mahatma....!!

What type of democracy we have in India? It seems like a police or a totalitarian state with a mask of democracy. Anna Hazare should be free to do and move about without police intervention. It seems to me that the Prime Minister is ineffective with his corrupt ministers and should resign.

I sympathize with Mr.Manmohan Singh. Having become a P.M with a clean image, he has allowed himself to be controlled by the corrupt people in his party and he is now caught between Tweedle-dum and tweedle-dee, the legitimate anti-corruption agitation on one side and the illegitimate corrupt politicians by his side. As a man of self-dignity, he should resign from the ignominy of being a puppet P.M.

Anna is at this juncture of Indian history, a god's sent opportunity to save the Indian democracy, which is just a hoax in India. I am proud to be with him, as millions in India. I pray for his success! Anna Hazre is a true follower of Mahatma Gandhi. His wish and intention is natural and simple, he wants an India free of corruption with equal chances for all. Anna is supported by Indians from all walks of life as he fights and tries to convince Indian politicians and political parties and other influential organizations and all Indians peacefully that a dream can come true by the determination of all to have a prosperous India, safe with a future for all even for the poorest of the poor. But meanwhile there is uncertainty if the Jan Lokpal Bill can be passed in its original draft and implemented therefore August 16 will mark the second freedom struggle in India said veteran Gandhian and social activist Anna Hazre. Expressing strong discontent over the Government's version of the anti-graft Lokpal Bill, Anna Hazare vowed to go on fast Aug 16, calling it the country's second freedom struggle.

Anna will use again a powerful tool THE FATHER OF THE NATION GANDHI used, he will go on an indefinite fast to express his determination and will to achieve his goal peacefully and legally. Anna will get again tremendous support all over India and even there will be a fast in Mangalore. Even lots of foreigners like me who are in love with India give support to Anna. India free of corruption is still a dream but it can be achieved.
