Prevention of Typhoid Fever

Typhoid fever, also known as typhoid, is a common worldwide illness, transmitted by the ingestion of food or water contaminated with the feces of an infected person, which contain the bacterium Salmonella enterica, serovar Typhi.The bacteria then perforate through the intestinal wall and are phagocytosed by macrophages. The organism is a Gram-negative short bacillus that is motile due to its peritrichous flagella. The bacterium grows best at 37°C / 98.6°F – human body temperature.
This fever received various names, such as gastric fever, abdominal typhus, infantile remittant fever, slow fever, nervous fever, pythogenic fever, etc. The name of "typhoid" comes from the neuropsychiatric symptoms common to typhoid and typhus (from Greek τῦϕος, "stupor").

Prevention of Typhoid Fever

  1. Drink 2 tall glasses of warm milk to which Psyllium seeds have been added. Psyllium seeds help in the easy and smooth passage of stools and check constipation.
  2. To settle a disturbed stomach, consume 2 tender coconut water everyday. Coconut water is alkaline and rich in essential nutrients.
  3. To battle fatigue and exhaustion, consume 5 dates daily. Soak them overnight in water and have the next day. They provide great strength and vigor.
  4. Stomach pain can be ameliorated by consuming a mixture of 1 spoon cumin seed powder and 1 spoon of powdered sugar.
  5. In order to manage fluctuating temperatures, drink raisin water. Raisins are an excellent tonic during fevers. Avoid popping anti-pyretics.
  6. Avoid foods which derange and upset the stomach – spicy food, tea, coffee, aerated drinks, refined foods and alcohol.
  7. Increase your fluid intake to prevent typhoid.


Control Typhoid:
  1. Take rest for a period of 1 week. Your body needs to recover and recuperate.
  2.  Drink boiled and filtered water only.
  3. Wash hands and feet thoroughly.
  4. Always keep food in covered containers.
  5.  Eat steaming hot food.


Cure typhoid fast.: Typhoid is an infectious disease, caused by a microbe salmonella typhii which is transmitted by feco- oral route. Nutritional correction is most critical for ensuring a lasting cure. Typhoid is notorious for becoming a chronic case, so, it is of great essence that you follow a judicious diet, healthy lifestyle and hygienic practices to prevent a relapse or a progression of the disease.
Watch out!
  1. Avoid popping too many anti-pyretics like crocin. Also, avoid treating yourself randomly without a definite diagnosis.
  2. Take adequate rest. Your body needs to recuperate.
  3. Drink only boiled water.
  4. Wash your hands and feet after returning from out.
  5. Always keep food in closed containers.
  6. Prefer hot food.

Treatment for Typhoid:

  1. In order to overcome fatigue, have raisins and dates daily. Soak them overnight in plain water and consume them the next day. They promote quick recovery and provide strength and vigor.
  2. Stomach pain can be relieved by consuming a mixture of 1 teaspoon cumin seed powder and 1 teaspoon of sugar.
  3. Avoid foods which disturb the stomach – spicy foods, tea, coffee, aerated drinks, refined foods and alcohol. You can consume milk freely provided you don’t suffer from diarrhea
  4. Consume lot of fluids – fruit juices, soups, glucose water or coconut water will be helpful.
  5. Homoeopathy mixture, biochemic 28 is a very good tonic for the entire system, combating infection, stepping up the immunity and bringing about speedy cure for typhoid.
